Making FM a career of choice for the future through high school outreach and FM higher education

The FM Global Workforce Initiative (GWI) - making FM a Career of Choice

The IFMA Foundation is all about making FM a Career of Choice, ensuring career pathways to an exciting and fulfilling career in FM are available to all students and individuals looking to enter the profession.  The Global Workforce Initiative (GWI) seeks to fill the growing FM workforce talent gap as more than half of today’s practitioners are expected to retire in the next 5-15 years.  We must introduce the profession to students before they make career decisions and increase the number of accredited FM degree programs worldwide for those seeking FM higher education and pointing others to IFMA credentials (FMP, SFP and CFM) and Essentials of FM training

The Foundation presented a webinar update on the GWI on March 15th, 2016 for ADP institutions.  You can view a recording of the webinar or download the slide deck..

The Accredited Degree Program is a primary initiative of the Foundation and where we invest the largest amount of human, volunteer, and financial resources.  Increasing the number of graduates with FM degrees entering the workforce is essential for the future of the profession.

Join us as we support the development of highly skilled and capable future practitioners by promoting the expansion of accredited FM degrees offered by higher education institutions worldwide.

In addition, we support FM students with our annual FM scholarship program, International Student of the Year competition, and ePoster contest.  Visit the student section of our website for more information.
