Intergenerational Issues of User Experience in Contemporary Office Environments
Wim Pullen, Center for People and Buildings, Delft, Netherlands
Research project being undertaken by the Center for People and Buildings in the Netherlands aims for an improved understanding of employee satisfaction, perceived productivity support and the importance of different characteristics of the work environment. The influence of two factors, age and the office concept, have been studied. Preliminary research analyses demonstrate that:
- Older employees are generally less satisfied with innovative multi-space offices with a hot desking policy, compared to traditional cellular offices with assigned desks.
- In younger employees this tendency is not observed
Wim Pullen, Director of the Center will share findings and issues uncovered by the project.
