Expanding Access to FM Careers

The IFMA Foundation is dedicated to enhancing academic FM program development, accreditation, and providing direct support to students. Our initiatives are designed to guide and encourage future facility managers as they progress through their academic journey.

Advancing Educational Programs

The demand for FM professionals is immense. Over the next five to 15 years, more than half of the current FM workforce is expected to retire. The IFMA Foundation is committed to expanding the availability of registered and accredited FM degree programs, making Facility Management a more accessible and appealing career choice. Our accredited programs adhere to the highest standards set by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

We collaborate with local IFMA chapters, industry partners, and various organizations to work with academic institutions, driving the advancement of FM program development and accreditation.

Direct Student Support

Through our scholarship programs, the IFMA Foundation annually awards both credential and academic scholarships to support students in their studies and participation in the World Workplace Student Experience. These opportunities enable students to network with practicing facility managers, attend IFMA educational sessions, engage in career seminars, and compete in the Foundation’s IgniteFM! Student Challenge.

In addition, we offer career and internship webinars in collaboration with GWI Partners, providing students with valuable resources and updates throughout the year to support their academic and career growth.
