Facilities Management is a profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built-in environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. The degree is associated with the Business program. Courses include Accounting, Introduction to Business, Business Ethics, Business Communications, Business Law, Introduction to Management, Introduction to Human Relations, Introduction to Project Management, and Essentials of Facilities Management are required for the Facilities degree. Upon completion of the Essentials of Facilities Management course, the student will receive an internationally recognized certificate from the International Facilities Management Association. Core industry-related coursework combined with a general education pattern will prepare the student with a base of knowledge that will enhance communication skills, critical thinking skills, global awareness and career and personal development. To enhance the student’s experience and to understand the facilities field a facilities related internship is required.
